RGSW is leading the construction of the Worcester International Hockey Centre in partnership with Worcester Hockey Club and with the support of Worcester City Council. It is an innovative collaboration that draws together the skills and expertise of an educational charity, an amateur sports club and local government to create a Hockey Centre accessible for the local community and that will become a 'jewel in the crown' for Worcester. This sports facility will comprise two international standard water-based pitches, two football pitches, changing facilities, and on-site parking.
The Centre will provide RGS pupils the space to develop their Hockey skills combining superb facilities and outstanding coaching and adding to the astroturf pitch at RGS The Grange. Partnering with Worcester Hockey Club offers a pathway for RGS pupils to participate in the sport locally at Club level as well. It will raise the bar for Hockey provision in Worcestershire and the West Midlands, with the potential for international fixtures to be held at the Centre. Construction commenced in October 2020 and will be completed in time for the season in September 2021.
Show your support for RGS, for the local community and for Hockey by buying a brick or making a donation. Have your name or that of your company associated with this exciting addition to the School. Or give a brick as a gift to the Hockey player in your life!
Donations can also be made without sponsoring a brick. Gift Aid can be applied to qualifying personal donations to increase the value of support.
The Foundation Office will contact each donor to acknowledge receipt of the gift, to confirm the engraving text for bricks (and logos where applicable) and to issue a certificate of thanks in advance of the bricks being installed.
Sponsorship opportunities and naming opportunities are also available, for details please contact the Foundation Office.
